The Old Age Pension Committee set up at the instance of Mr Ohaplin. President of the Local Government Board, hag made its report.
The committee recommends that every needy deserving person sixtyfive years of age shall be eligibla for a minimum pension of five shillings per week. N The pensions, it is recommended, ■jhall be paid out of the local rate? and from the national exchequer in equal shares.
