Agricultural Statistics.
Farther agricultural statistics based on actual threshing yields are gazetted. The weather was wet during the harvest in the North Island and part of the Middle Island, and a considerable quantity of grain was damaged. The actual yield of wh'eat, oats and barley was a good deal over the estimate, being :'— Wheat, 32.76, against the estimate 27 ; oats, 39.56, against 35; barley, 36.73, against 28. After allowing for local consumption and seed, this gives a surplus of wheat of 7,808,314 bushels. The previous year there was a surplus of only 190,341 bushels. There was an increase in acreage under oats of 62,501, and both the yield and quality were much higher than the previous year. Barley suffered from the wet, much, of it J>eing discoloured. Rye grass retnoaed 25 bushels an acre, and there are available 11,717,857 bushels. Several phenomenal yields of from 50 to 70 bushels to the acre are reported. The amount of cocksfoot available is estimated at 795,5301b5, Potatoes are reported to be of good quality, and^ show an increase from 4.95 to 7.73* tons per acre. _. .
