Floods in America.
Appalling floods have occurred in the Texas Valley, where the Brazis river has overflowed its banks. A tract of country 500 miles long and 50 miles in width has been devastated to such au extent by the flood as to be transformed into a wilderness. The inundation had been aooom*
panied by great loss of life, no fewer than 250 persons having been drowned.
The losses of farmera in the di?-a^-ar stricken area are estimated t) reach as much as 10,000,000 dollars (about £2,000,000).
