The ordinary meeting of the above was held on Monday afternoon and"*amongst the business done was that of * immediate local interest : — Oroua Bridge — Mr Henry Lyall appointed heud-teacher. Relieving Teacher— Miss Mary Scot t^, was appointed Relieving Teacher, to be stationed at Palmerston. Leave — Miss Anderson was granted a month's leave on pay for sickness, Miss Alison McDonald three weeks; and Miss H. West leave from attend* ing, examination. m*> Religious Education — It was decided to reply to the letter from the Ministers at Hawera, stating that theTre was no power under the Act to allow religious teaching in school hours; and also to write to the Linton Com* rm'ttee to the sara JS^fifegt. r *tOroua JBrid«e*-fl^was jdjkided to pay Mr Htapcps ■ Ad#br procuring tbe title to the Orbua Brtage school site. Feilding — The Chairman and Mr J. W. Baker were appointed a Committee to inquire into the punishment and expulsion, pf Mr A. W. Parker's daughter at Feilding. . , Instruction — On Mr Piranj's motion, it was resolved, That a circular be sent to headmasters of schools where pupil-teachers are engaged, asking them to forward to the Board monthly a statement in such' pupil-teachers' and cadets' own writing giving hour, date, period and description of lessons given to such pupil-teachers and cadets outside school hours, such statement to be signed by the pupilteachers or cadets and counter-signed by. tKe Uejidteacher? *pn* :, \. F^Hst&p!— <£eo. . % was transferred from Hawera to FoxtOrt. Leave— Leave pf absence, on pay was granted- to Mr Stewart for 3 weeks, Miss Carter for 9 days and Mr Liggins for one month. Taikorea— Mr Sanson to report re removing the school. Technical School, Wanganui— Charles George, M.A.., of the University of Aberdeen, was appointed science master. It was also decided to thank Mr Rockell, 8.A., for his work in charge of these classes temporarily.
