The following reports were adopted 4| at the last meeting : — engineer's report. Sir,— l have tbe honour to report r— That a body was buried in th« • cemetery on Sunday, May 28th, with* out a permit having been obtained from me. The workmen have been engaged during the past month cleaning out the Avenue and Spring street drains and spreading metal on Moutoa and Park roads. The co-st ot cleaning out the Avenue drain has been 48 nd per chain as against 5s gd asked by contaactors. Tl?e No. 2 Line drain or Guerin's outlet has been satistactorily cleaned .out and I recommend payment.' Messrs Symons requested; thaf-No. 2 Line from Wirokino road their flaxmill should be formed, .and the Council decided the work should be done. I gave Mr Charles Sytnons notice to grub the gorse growing on the road some time an^Jbave as frequently as asked tb do the v ifcrintng reminded Messrs Symons about the gorSe not being grubbed. -As up to Saturday night last the gorse on the Messrs Symons side ot the road had not been touched, does Gpyncil consider that the rqad lorma&pn under existing circumstances should pc pro* ceeded with.
