The Perthshire again Sighted
A tug reports at Sydney having spoken the oarque Northern Chief, from Kaipara, just off the coast of New South Wales.
The captain of the latter reported that he passed the Perthshire on Thursday last in latitude 34 south, longitude 164 east, about 400 miles from Cape Maria Van Diemen. 4 The Perthshire reported all weH. % The Northern Chief met with heavy weather after passing the Perthshire. The Stella, which left Hokianga on Monday, was reported off Cape Maria Van Diemen, going South, at 4 p.m. yesterday. >f It was thought the Stella had been cruising from the Three Kings southwards in search of the Perthshire.
The Stella is now entering Kaipara Heads alone.
A wire, in response to enquiries from the lighthouse-keeper at Cape Maria Van Diemen, states that 'so far there is no sign of the missing steamer in that locality.
