Serious Accident.

♦" A very serious accident occurred this morning at Mr Hennesiay'a flix mill. The belt had fallen off the hiving wheel of the scutcher and the mao^work ng there called out to have it put on. The victim of the accident. Joseph Morgan, ran in from outsidf r.he mill where he was cleaning a I drain out to put the belt right, and the feeder oailed out to him that it did not matter as the belt had broken, but Morgan had got to the abafbing at the time and the loose belt caught his arm and whirled him on to the shaft and then wound itself around him The man revolved a a umber of times varying from six and eight times to 30 times, and in whirling around his legs were struck against a piece of scantling erected as a tie for the roof. Dr Maaras i was soon in attendance, and after a cursory examination said he could, fiud no signs of any bones being broken, but he feared he was injured internally and that his spine might ba injured. The poor fellow had a bad time as hia chest has had th* skin all rubbed off, and there is much dumago under the right arm. A stretcher was obtained and placed in an express and the injured man was taken to his home on the Avenue Rjad. Bid luck appears to hava a hold on Morgan, as he has only left the hospital for the last six weeki. Hs is a single man.
