South African Cattle Trade
Advices have been received at Brisbane as to the result; of the recent trial shipment of fat cattle sent from Queensland to South Africa. There were 480 beast 3 sent from this colony, but heavy loss occurred on the voyage across the Indian Ocean, and on arrival at their destination there were only 172 left alive. The whole of the mortality occurred amongs the cattle housed between deoks. On being sold the consignment realised £32 per head.
