The American have captured and occupied the fort and t>wn of San Torna?, siiuatvd on the island of Luzon, 125 miles ' north-west; of Manila, after a de?perate fight with he Filipino defenders. Eistern new.-papors just to hand state that the Spanish authorities ■ire suspected of treacherously handing the gunboats pnrchased from thf-m l.y the Americana to the Filipinos, who have removed the guns and ammunition. The American forces have again met with a series of successes. They, attacked and captured the strongholds of the rebels at Santo Toma3 and San Fernando.
In the fight General Lnn, of Uv= Filipino army, was wounded. The Americin3 have also taken hnge supplies of stores at Mololos and Balinfz.
