Cricket.

Yesterday the local cricketers jour* neyed to Taikorea in Mr Barham's drag, leaving town at nine o'clock. They played in a paddock of Mr Boswell's which he has had put into good order for cricket, and given the une of it to the Taikorea team.

The visitors won the match by six runs.

The teams were captained by Messrs G. Stiles and W. Stansell. The cricketers were entertained at dinner by Mr and Mrs Boswell and had also afternoon tea there. They returned at seven o'clock having had a very enjoyable time. The scores are as follows : —
