THE FUNERAL.

The funeral took place to«day at i 2.30 p.m. and was very largely attended. The Rev. W. Woollass opened the service at the house by singing •« Safe in the arms of Jesus " and then read a portion of the service and offered up a prayer. Two verses of another hymn were sung prior to the coffin being placed in the hearse. The Foresters and members of the 1.0. G.T. attended in force, and headed the procession to the cemetery, the ..» .hearse and mourners and public following. The funeral lett the house occupied by Mrs Walker, the stepmother of the deceased, and came round by the school and the Avenue. It was one of the longest processions seen for many a day.
