After a sensational trial, lasting three days, Madame Bianchini, wife o ' Charles Cianchini, a well known Paris scenic artisti tias toea se&Uae«4 i<f
five years on a charge of attempting to poison her husband. Some months ago Bianchini became ill. Madame also exclusively nursed him, but despite all the doctor's care the patient gradually became weaker. Suspicions Df atrophine poisoning were aroused. Two friends removed Bianchini from the wife's care, and he rapidly recovered. Madame was arrested on suspicion and several phials ofatro« phine found in her room. Upon hearing the sentence she attempted to com- ' mit suicide by stabbing herself with a hat pin.
