A New Invention.
t Provisional protection has just been granted for an invention that is said to carry the voice loudly and clearly for a distance of many miles. It it claimed by the inventor that the • fitting of bis apparatus in the House of Commons, and connrcting it to Hyde Park, would allow of thousands of porp'o hpftring in clear tones every word spoken in the Parliamen tary obamber. The apparatus con lists of a phonograph with special cyclinders, and bearing a funnelshaped moutl piece. The instrr. ment gives forth musical and vocal sounds in 6uch volume as to be almost deafening in an ordinary sized room, and the volume can bo increased at will. The in vector, in fact, pays the instrument will work distinct'y and with satisfaction over two miles, and this he has actually proved.
