CAPTAINS ALLMAN AND VON
SCHOEN ACyUITTED.
At the Supreme Court, Wellington, on Tuesday, in tho ease against Captain Altaian, of making a false representation for tho purpose of obtaining a certificate of competency as master mariner for James Jones, the jury, by direction of the Chn=f Justice, acquitted the accused, on the ground that, the Act did not con template pnnishment for the net of which Captain Allman bad been guilty. In conwqnpncfi of the decision in Captain AHman'o casp, the Orwn Proßpcntnr entered a nolle prostqui in a similar charge against Captain Von Schopp.
