The Late Rev. W. Coienso.
« The funeral of the late Rev. W. Coienso took place on Monday afternoon at Napier, and was attended by a very large number of settlers from all parts of the district. Messrs C. H. Edward?, E. W. Knowlas, and J. B. Fielder are the executors of the will of the late Mr Coienso. The deceased leaves £1000, to ba invested by the Councillors, and divided annually among3t 20 of the poorest families of Napier. The Bim of £500 is bequeathed to the annual purchase of prizes for the children attending the State schools in Napier ; £500 for the distressed seaman or other Ftrangei'3 desiring assistance ; and £500 is to be igves r.pd for the object of assisting discharged prisoners from Napier goal ; £200 to the Hawke's Bay Philosophical Society, which body also rpceives all his dri&d plants, specimens natural hist ny ppecimens, ! framed portrait of Sir J. Hooker and Allan Cunningham, an enlarged photograph of the donor, and a photo of an ancient bronze bell with Tamil incription, found in New Zealand, all these gifts to be held in trust by Mr H. Hill and Dr Spencer and Mr J. W. Carlile (the two later deceased since the signing of the '
