Another New Zealand Loan.
A New Zealand loan of a million at 8 per cent, is imminent, underwritten at £ per cent. Probably the minimum will be fixed at 96. [The million loan, whioh has of course been authorised by the New Zealand Cabinet, is projected under the provisions of certain Act 9of the Legislature. The principal of these are the Government Advances to Settlers Act and the Aid to Public Works and Land Settlement Act. A measure amending the last named ■tatute was passed last session giving additional authority to raise half a million sterling of which £175,(100 is to be devoted to railway coo- ■ struotion, £200,000 to rolling stock for the railways, and £125,000 to construction of " roads, tracks »nd bridges, and any other such works It and purposes as may be authorised."]
