An inquest was commenced oti Monday on the body of Mabel Ambrose, a seamstress, whose re« . mains were found floating in tht Yarra enclosed in a boot-trunk a few weeks ago. The three persons accused of the murder were present in custody— Olga Badalyski (or Ledebar) i, futurist and masseuse ; Thelka Dubberke, a domeatio servant ; and Tr»vice Alexander Tod, a house and estate agent. Evidence was called which esUb- \ liahed the fact than an illicit re]*. tionship existed between the girl and j Tod; : Dubberke (or Jamieson), who gave the information to the police which led to the identification of the body and the arrest of the principals, supplemented her previous stats* ment by stating that Radalyski frequently treated Ambrose with an electrio battery to procure a nM> carriage, but the treatment failed; The night before the death occurred she told Ambrose that she intended i next morning to take stronger measures. It was farther stated by Dabberke that Dr Gaze was called in shortly after Ambrose's death, hut did QQt wish his name to be mixed up in the case. He Was subsequently ipfgpfA of the method adopted of disposing of the body and expressed the opinion that it would float. The inquiry haa been adjourned till Monday.
