Clemency.
The season has had its effect even upon the law, and two prisoners will welcome the fact. Mrs Camille Locher, who will be remembered as having shot Mr George Norbury with a revolver in Messrs Haroourt and Co.'b auction rooms nearly . three years ago, was released from the Terrace* Gaol on Thursday and sent Home by the s.s. Buahine. The N.Z. Times has. reason to believe that the rumour that Wallath, the " Taranaki highwayman " (who has nine months of his sentence to run), is to be immediately released has foundation in fact.
