ESTERHAZY RUNS AWAY.

Easterhazy sailed in the Roterdam for America. It is surmised the French War Office is assisting him with secret fands. It is expected the Court of Cassation will demand the Picquart dozzier. The court martial on Picquart will perforce have to be adjourned. A procession, numbering thousands headed by professors and students, marohed to the prison where Picquart was incarcerated and made a great demonstration. The cheered Picquart and hooted Drumraout, a well known anti-semitic Deputy, and Roohefort. In the course of a discussion on the Dreyfus case ia the Chamber of Deputies, M. Pionoarre and Barthow who were members of Dufaure's 1894 Minister, the year Dreyfus was sentenced, disclaimed all knowledge of the Dreyfus affair until the newspapers announced his arreat. The authorship of the hordwaux, they declare, was the only definite charge brought against Dreyfus. They never heard Dreyfus confess to General Le Brun Renault Baugs. M. Dupuy said lie had questioned the General, subject to the admission. He was greeted with cheers and general expressions of astonishment. M. Poincarre declared the treatment of Picquart had caused a feeling in the calmest mind. It was clearly intended as a reprisal. M. Cavaignac, who was un*ympa nbetically received by the Chamber, .inserted that Renault told General Mercier, Minister for War, at the time Dreyfus was exiled that Dreyfu? bad confessed, but added that Renault had retracted that. M. Dipny announced that Government declined to intervene in tht proceedings, of the Civil or Military Court, but willing to furnish the Court of Cassation all documents in the case, except those involving national defence. He indirectly invited the Court of Cassation to use its powers to retard the court martial of Picquart. If Government inter, vened its action might be liable to misconception. The Chamber passed a vote of coni fidence in the Government by 487 to 78.
