» •» FIRST DAY, The above races took place yesterday, and passed off fairly well. The attendance was not large, and the dividends low, the highest being only £4 Bs. The weather kept fine during the day. In the last hurdle race a fine bit of riding was exhibited by G. Walla. The horse "Sbylock" he was riding stumbled and nearly threw his rider, when after a distance of twenty yards had been covered, Walls managed to recover himself and bring his horse in first. In the last race Katoomba finished third and is reported to have broken a blood-vessel.
