Wreck of an Atlantic Liner.
EIGHTY-SIX LIVES LOST.
Owing to the breakdown of the machinery the linner Mohegan bound to New York, was driven on to the Manacle rocks, south of Falraouth (Cornwall) on Saturday. A heavy gale was blowing at the time and the vessel sank within 20 minutes.
Of the crew and passengers 86 were drowned and 31 passengers and 16 of the crew were saved.
