GENERAL MEETING.

The Annual General Meeting of the above club was held at the conclusion of the committee meeting. Ten members were present, Mr J, Howan in the chair* The minutes of the last annual meet, itig were read and confirmed. The report and balance-sheet were read by the Secretary and adopted. NINTH ANNUAL REPORT. Gentlemen, — In presenting the ninth annual report and balance-sheet o£the crab, your committee regret to say that . since the last report, very little interest has been taken in boating matters, but as the new shed is almost completed, we trust that new life will be placed in the club during the coming season. The committee suggest that the Rata and Nikau be at once placed in the hands of a competent person for repairs, otherwise they will ' not be able to be used this coming season. They would also suggest that 12 new sculls be at once purchased. All tbe other boats are in a fair state of repair. The balance-sheet shows a credit balance of £32 8s id, but this will bern absorbed in paying for the erection of the new shed. It is to be hoped that members will pay up their subscriptions to the club for the coming season as early as possible as some £10 odd will be reqqired to pay the. contractor ! for erecting shed. , The committee in making this report wish to state that the departure of their late Secretary, Mr F. Eure, has-w.l been a great loss to the club. The committee trust that seme more interest be taken during the coming season and hope the members will do all in their power to further the welfare of the club. The election of officers then proceeded with and resulted as follows: — President, Mr F. Robinson; Captain, Mrß. G. Gower; Vice-Captain, Mr J. H. Howan; Secretary, W. MacDermott; Treasurer, Mr J. F. Overend ; Auditor, Mr W. S. Stewart ; Committee, Messrs W. Cook, G. Stiles, and A. Stansell. A letter was read from Mr J. R. Stansell resigning his position as Captain and also as member of the club, he having left the district It was resolved that a letter be sent to Mr Stansell, regretting the necessity _____ of his leaving the club. , -^J After some discussion, it was pro^ posed by A. Shadbolt, seconded by H. Thynne, That the erection of the new skids at boatshed be left in the hands of the committee. Carried.

Proposed by J, Over-end, seconded by J. Gillespie, That the Secretary write to members in arrear that unless their subscriptions are paid by the end of October they will cease to be members of the club. Carried. Proposed by T. Wankiyn, seconded G. Gower, That rule 8 " non-payment of subs." be strictly enforced. Carried. Proposed by T. Wankiyn, seconded hy H. Thynne, That Messrs Overend and Gower act as Trustees in dealing with the funds of the Club in the Post Office Savings Bank. Carried. The meeting closed with the usual , vote of thanks to the chair.
