The Rev. Frank Isitt.
Notwithstanding the stale of the weather last, eyeniug there was a veryfair attendance at the Public Hall to hear the Rev F. W. Isitt lecture on "Some Heroes of the Abolition » movement." He gave a rapid and interesting sketch of snch men as Lloyd Ganison, the agitator, who by his active energy and ability as m editor first commenced the n«bt against the slave trade ; Wendall Phillips, the orator, whom Daniel O'Connell placed as the ablest speaker of tbe day ; Levi Coffin, the cjuiet actor, who instituted the underground railway which was the means of liberating such a number of slaves ; and last >>ut not least John Brown, the fighting hero who lost his life in the struggle. At the conclusion of the lecture a heady vote of thanks was accorded ■ the Rev gentleman. This evening should the weather continue fine, a large atteudance may be expected to hear the lecture "The Destroyer." .
