The British syndicate has secured the contract for the construction of a railway from Kan Lung to Canton. The Tinrn saya that Lord Salisbury having accepted the Russian conditions with regard to the Newchang railway, has led the Chinese directors of the railway to break off with the Hongkong bank and open up negotiations with the RussoChineae Bank.
