The Admirals of the foreign fleets have asked that reinforcement a be sen tto Crete. Armed Christian forces of the islanders are marching upon G'andia, the scene of the recent Moslem outbreak, and a conflict is imminent.

The Admirals demand the immediate withdrawal of the BashiBdzouka, as well as the recall of the Turkish authorities and troops. The Turkish Beys acknowledge that the conduct of the Bashi-Bazouks and the Turkish troops in the rising was inexcusable.

Admiral Nael, in command of the British fleet, has issued an ultimatum t:> Edhem Pasha directing him to disarm the population and surrender the ringleaders of the disturbance, also to refund the tithe 3 collected and surrender the forts commanding the British camp within 48 hours. Edhem Paaha pleads inability to ezeoute the demands.
