The Dervishes are in large force in a fortified camp at Kerreri, but are not interfering with General Kitchener's concentration opera- , Lions. Zarfino, the flagship of the gunboat flotilla on thn Nile, sprang a leak and sank in three minutes, off Shendy. Everybody was saved. General Bundle and Prince Christian Victor lost their kits, and had a narrow escape. The late General Gordon's nephew I who is with General Kitchener's j force, sighted the Khalifa's Poho from Omdurmon. The cavalry patrols came into con* tact wjth small parties of Dervishes, 1 who invariable retreated.
