The Hooley Sensation.
During the examination of Mr E. T. Hooley in bankruptcy, Mr Justice Wright was a^kecl to commit Ear! De la Warr and Messra Bucker, Broadly and Broadbenfc for contempt of Court in asking Mr Hooley tc ormnd his evidence. Mr Hooley produced Ear) De 1» . Warr'B compromising letter. • \ The case was adjourned. Sevetal persons have denied befon the Begistrar Mr Hooley *s etatemen' of bribery.
Mr Hooley thrashed young Mr Lawson Johnston in the street with a walking etick for threating to make exposures in regard to Mrs Hoolty** funds if further revelations were made concerning his father and " Bovril." The Registrar in Bankruptcy threatened to prosecute Mr Johnston, bat has accepted an apology.
