Manawatu Rowing Club.
A meeting the aboy&Club's Com* mittee was n«ld at Whyte'st Hotel on Saturday eve^g at 8.30 o'clock. Pre;ent-~Messrs J. R. Stansell (chairman), W, Cook, J. F. Overend, J. H. Howan and the secretary (W. McDermott). The meeting, was called to ascertain what steps should be taken as to building a new boatshed, as- the critiJ cal position .of the present structure warranted something being done without delay. After some consideration it was decided that alternate tenders should be called for building a shed on the present site or new site, tenders to close next Saturday night with the secretary at 8 o'clock,s the same to be advertised. It was also decided that all the boats, oars, and anything of value belonging to the Club should be at once removed to Mr Thynne'sshed, pending the erection of the new shed, and a temporary cover of insurance to be obtained. After considering the financial position of the Club, which proved to be good, the meeting adjourned with a vote of thanks to the chair.
