The Deputation to Wellington.

.* The Committee have been informed by Mr-John Stevens that the Premier and the Minister of Lands will receive the deputation from Foxton any day. next week, and it has been settled that the interview shall take place on Wedj nesday. All those who are willing to swell the deputation are requested to leave Shannon by the evening train on Tuesday, and By the courtesy of the Manager of- the Manawatu Railway Company the concession of first-class travelling at second-class fares has been made. Arrangements are also in course of settlement whereby some concession will be obtained for board. Thus everyone has a chance of a comfortable-, inexpensive, and pleasurable trip to the Empire City, besides giving a hand to help themselves. We trust a good number will avail themselves of this opportunity. The thanks of the people of Foxton are due to the Manawatu Railway Company for the prompt manner their request for a concession was granted, and this may be taken as an admirable endorsement of the views of the deputation, that anything which willtendto preserve the flax industry is valuable to all carriers and trades, and is farreaching in its working. Just as we were going to press a telegram was handed us by the Town Clerk from Mr Stevens, announcing definitely that the Premier has fixed the hour for the interview at ten o'clock on Wednesday morning at the Parliamentary Buildings.
