Rather a Surprise.
$wo burglars have Jjfcen captured in Paiia under most ■extraordinary circumstances. They entered n house in the Bae JDauphine, and wore quietly examining it from basement to roof with the view of future operations, when they came to a room on the top floor, where the key had been left in the door. Not hearing any noise they thought the occupant was out, and stole into the room and olosed the door behind thfctt. The occupant had not gone out, He had committed suicide and hii body was hanging there in front of them from a hook in the ceiling of his dining room. So afartled were the two theives that they dashed out of the room and clattered down the stairs in their heavy boots without the least attempt at concealment. The noise they made aroused the conoierge at the door, who at once arrested the two very pale and frightened young ruffians. They refused to say where they had been, but one of them still had the key in bi3 pocket, and the police soon discovered Ibe state of affairs. The man that had bo ■tartled them had committed suicide some hours before. The thieves are in custody charged with stealing the key.
