It ] may be too much to say that a huge ' revolution is under way, but it is certain that there is great restlessness throughout South China, Many soldiers from lunam led by foreigners are joining the " Black Flag " rebellion in South China. Two thousand Manchu troops have been sent to repel the Annamite troops. The Black Flags captured the magistrate of Ewangsi province, soaked him in kerosene and burnt him alive. Tb«y afterwards butchered the Magistrate's family.
