Darby-hire, of Farn worthnear Bolton, a well-known breeder of long-distance pigeon., has just consigned a number of one month old pigeons from his stud at Farnworth to the Navy pigeon loft at Gosport. Tbe Admiralty intend to use these swift-winged messengers for conveyance of messages from warships to the shore, with the view of rendering them serviceable in times of war.
