A local flaxmiller secured the other day a good-sized contract at £19 a ton in Wellington. Mr Hillary has added to his advertisement of property to let that the highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. A good many enquiries bave been made to him about this excellent block, and we remind those desiring to obtain it that tenders close to-morrow. Mr W. B. Bhodes advertises that he has to arrive a fresh lot of flaxmill extras from Messrs Booth, Macdonald & Co. for sale at lowest prices. It is expected that the Brunner mine will begin putting out coal for export tbis week.
