It was reported a fortnight ago that the French had evacuated Kishi a town to which they had laid claim on the western side of the Niger, situated on tbe 9th parallel of north latitude, some 60 miles from the river, to the south-west of Bajibo. Details now received state that the natives became discontented and ejected the small French garrison, and the British forces in the neigh bourbood then occupied the place. Tbe French are now stationed in ihe vicinity, and have protested.
