THE QUEEN REGENT'S APPEAL.

The Queen Regent of Spain has sent an autograph letter to the Queen of England, The New York World correspondent learns from a high source, imploring help. Q ueen Maria Ghristina begs Queen Victoria to use her influence to prevail upon the British Government to support Austria and France in the attempt to secure European mediation. This extraordinary step was taken by the Qneen Regent beoause of th' cold reception accorded, by thf British Government to the rep. resentations of the Spanish Ambassador respecting mediation. Queen Victoria immediately forwarded a copy of the Queen Regent's letter to Lord Salisbury, whose policy will not in any way be affected by it.
