Confirmation at All Saints'.
» Last night His Lordship the Bishop of Wellington held tbe sacred rite of confirmation at AU Saints' Church. Tbe building was packed to its utmost capacity, chairs having to be placed down tbe aisle to find - seating accommodation . There were fifteen candidates presented. The service commenced at halfpast seven, the Bishop and Vicar and lay reader, with the choristers entering the church by the west door to the strains of the processional hymn, No. 170. The usual evening service then followed, the lessons being read by Mr Fraser, the lay readerr The Vicar read the usual exhortation to candidates, and then His Lordship addressed them upon tho obligations and responsibilities they were 'about to undertake, taking the text from St. Mark X, 49th verse. After this the candidates were presented by the Vicar to the Bishop, and duly confirmed. His Lordship afterwards delivered an impressive address from the XIV Chapter of St. Matthew, apd 28:h verse. After the benediction the service was brought to a close by a recessional hymn, No. 540. Mrs England kindly presided at the organ.
