At Chemnitz, in Saxony, a particular cla^s of traders have found it necessary to adopt means of preventing what they term " unfair competition " on the part of a fellow tradesman. A local bootmaker advertised that on a particular day he would give a pair of slippers to all -*i who called at his shop. The rival bootmakers of the town were seriously alarmed at this and were soon up in »rni<. They applied to the Civil Tribunal for an injunction to restrain the offender from giving effect to his advertised intention on the ground of unfair competition, wnich was granted.
