One of Mr Saddon's Experiencies.
Mr Seddon amused bis hearers with several ancdotes recently, one nf which was too good to be lost. He was electioneering once in tha extreme south of Wesfcland electionspring once in the extreme south of West.land electorate, when he got thoroughly drenobed in a stream which it was necessary to cross and on arrival at a settler's place .the good lady of the house gave him her husband's clothes, but the future Privy Councillor found that the " breeks " were not nearly capacious enough to encircle his portly form. In sore straits, he was cogitating on tha situation when the landlady called out that dinner was ready. Ha briefly explained his difficulty, and the resourceful housewife threw in her apron and asked her guest to put it on, adding " between the old man's breeks end my apron come and have your dinner." And clad in suoh novel costume, little thinking at the time that he would one day, afctired in Court dress, " bask ; n the Ptnilea of Boyalty." Mr Seddon had his dinner Standard.
