END OF THE STRIKE. The * third ballot taken by the Amalgamated Sooiety of Engineers on the question of effecting a provisional arrangement in regard to the conditions proposed by the employers for the management of the works resulted in 28,588 voting for and 13,727 against the acceptance of the conditions. .Mr G. Barnes, secretary oi the Society of Engineers, has signed an agreement accepting the master's t^rma, and work, which is plentiful, will ba resumed on Monday.
