France.
THE DREYFUS SENSATION. A wild scene occurred in the Chamber of Deputies in a discussion on the Drefus case. While M, Jaures, leader of the Socialist Party, was addressing the Chamber, M. De Bernis interjected accusations to the effect that M. Jaures was acting as counsel for Dreyfus. M. Jaures retorted by calling his accuser a coward and a rascal. M. De Bernis then dashed towards the rostrum, and struck M. Jaures and other Deputies who interfered. A free fight on the floor of the Chamber between the Socialist Deputies and the members of the Bight followed. The President was unable to restore order, and was compelled to call in the military. He left the chair, and the sitting was suspended. Paris is much excited over the affair. The chief oentres are filled with troops to prevent rioting. The anti-Semitic agitators are quite of era wed by the demonstration. M. Meline, the Premier, oompared the street appeals to a revolution, and he is determined to suppress such a thing. He refused to produce Captain Dreyfus' confession ! because it would imply a re-opening of the trial.
