The Queensland Floods.
Preparations are being made for a big flood at Brisbane. At Maryborough the low part of the town is already inundated with ' water to the extent of 4ft. The Grand Hotel and the wharves are submerged, and the shops and residences in the probable flood area' have been cleared of all movable-"*' property. Hundreds of houses in South Bmbane have been flooded, and the residents have fled. The river ie sfclll rising rapidly. At 11 o'clock Wednesday morning boats were rescuing and conveying people about the streets. At South Brisbane the houses^ were standing Bft under : water. * Ihe !o3a is not so great as last time, owiug to the timely, warning. The flood invaded North Brisbane < to-day. All the low -lying parts be* tween Balitnbo and Breakfast Creek were inundated.
