The Lumigraph.

» ■ . A treat is in store for Foxton next Wednesday, the 19th of January, when the Lumigraph Company will perform for one night only at the Public Hall. The Lumigraph, which is the invention I of Lumiere,T:he great French scientist, displays animated scenes ot life-like size, and amongst the pictures that are to be shown is the Diamond Jubilee Procession from start to finish. This scene is an actual reproduction of that great event, and is so realistic that the audience imagine themselves in the streets of London and get seiaed with the same unbounded enthusiasm and loyalty as the crowd who actually witnessed the procession in London on the day of Her Majesty's Jubilee. Another splendid scene is the train passing up the Gorge River in America. This picture is taken from a moving train, and as the beautiful gorge scenery passes across the screen, it is hard to believe that /One is 1 not actually seated in a moving tr,ain. There is also a large variety of other beautiful pictures to be shown, all animated and realistic as in actual life. In addition to the Lumigraph, Mr George Percy Hausman, the skilful conjuror, will make his first appearance in Foxton. His sleight-of-hand tricks are all new, and have caused great interest and merriment every time he has performed in other parts of the colony- Miss Millie Richardson, a gitted young lady, and will give some of her character sketches and mimicry. Mr Fuller, the Lumigraph representative, is at present -in Foxton making arrangements for the performance next Wednesday evening. His company has just completed a most successful tour ot the Wairarapa district, and is undoubtedly one of the best entertainments that has yet visited Foxton.
