Horse Stealing Cases.
j ONE MAN ARRESTED. . A man named Patrick Barron, alias Bourne, alias F. O'Neil, has been ' arrested on a warrant in Wellington for the theft of a horse and a pair of boots the property of John Barnes, now working on the Motoa Estate, : also for the theft of a saddle and bridle the property of Robert Dunn, contractor for ploughing also on the Motoa Estate. The boots were recovered on a swagger who went to the camp tor work in Barron's place. The swagger said that -when drunk at Otaki he had ~~tajcen his bo6fs--olfand when he woke up found these better boots substituted. They were recognised by young Barnes as his property by certain marks on the uppers. The horse saddle and bridle have been recovered at Otaki and brought to the police station yesterday. A horse alleged to be stolen from Mrs Wakefield has also been recovered at Levin, and the person who is sup- ' posed to have taken the animal away will shortly be arrested as a warrant "bas been issued.
