Bush Fires in Tasmania.

* RESIDENTS FLEEING FOB THEIR LIVES. The bush fires are assuming enormous dimensions in Tasmania. The country is ablaze in all directions, Mount Wellington being a mass of flames A party of sailors from the warships are assisting to fight the flames. Hobart itselt is hidden in smoke. At Longley a woman and a boy were burned to death. Several others were injured. A terrible fire §wept over the Lyell mining fields. In Linda Valley all the residents had to flee for their lives, only partially clad. They sought refuge in creeks and tunnels, and saved nothing whatever. The hotels are crowded with the homeless. Several persons have been badly burned, but, so far as is known, no lives have been lost.
