Fearful Cyolone at the Philippines.
Eastern news gives details of the recent cyclone at the Philippine Islands. Thousands of lives were lost, and whole towns and villages disappeared. Foolotran, the principal town in i the island of Leyhe, was reduced to ruins, and 240 Europeans and several hundred natives were drowned. It is reported that Hernani, in the island of Samar, which contained 6000 inhabitants has altogether disappeared. Many other centres of population have been devastated, ana there is great loss of life. The conformation of parts of the OOist has been completely altered. Many vessels were wreokad and the coast is strewn with wreckage and bodies. Thousands of people are wandering about homeless and foodless.
