Acetylene Gas.

A SATISFACTORY EXHIBITION. On Saturday evening Mr Bullard of Bulls, agent for the New Zealand Acetylene Gas Company, visited Foxton, as advertised in these columns, and gave an exhibition of the* gas in Mr. A. Osborne's Shop. The apparatus Mr Bullard brough with him enabled two jets to be burnt for half an hour. A very I large number of persons visited the 1 shop and expressed themselves well

pleased with the light, it being far in advanoe of kerosene, is perfectly steady, mikes no smoke, and has no heat. In faot you could hold your hand within a few inches of the flame without inconvenience. It is said that some of our store* keepers intend having their premise! fitted up so as to use this new light as it will be a saving in cost, and . will do away with the lamp dean* K ing and wick trimming of the oil lamps.
