General Lockhart's force will occupy the maidan, or parade-ground, of the Afridis at Tirah.
The casualties on the side of the expedition during the fighting against the tribesmen up to 28th October were— British, 247 killed and 848 wounded t natives, 870 killed and 605 wounded.
The tribesmen are resisting the forward movement of the British troops, and have attacked the baggage guard at close quarters, and harassed the picket.
Four men belonging to the Queen's Regiment were killed while defending the baggage, which was looted.
The mopque where the original attack on the British at the outbreak of the rebellion was planned proves to ba a mud-roofed block house.
