Alleged Sunday Trading.

In a case heard at Christchnrch a week aero against J. L. Carl, licensee of the Empire Hotel, of alleged Sunday trading, Mr Beetham, S.M., on Tuesday in giving judgment said the facts showed that defendant with some personal friends had been out on a long bicycle ride, that they reached the hotel on Sunday afternoon, hot, tired, and dusty, aid the licensee gave th^m refreshments. No charge was made, nor was intended to be made, either directly or indirectly. He was satisfied no transaction in the nature of a sale took place during prohibited hours, and dismissed the information.
