Rongotea Notes.
(PROM 6UB OWN OdRRBSPOftIIBHT.) We are about to have a new creamery built, the present one not being able to cope with the supply. The timber is already on the ground, and when finished the building will come up to all requirements. The weather up thia way has been giving us a very bad turn, nothing but wind and rain day after day. But 1 suppose we must not grumble, we have had a very mild winter. Some of our paddocks are consequently more grass than mud, which is a pleasant change from what we have formerly experienced, when we have had more mud than grass. Mr Canning has sold out to one of our local residents. Our young folks, although late, have caught the dancing fever — a ball every other week until the New Year, I believe is the order. Mr John Hopkins, a very old and much esteemed settler, died on Saturday night, after only a few houvj' illness. The funeral took place on Tuesday and was attended by a large number of persons. We are badly in want of a tailor and saddler in our midst, also a dressmaker and milliner. Good -sites can be obtained on the square, and persons in want of a fortune in either of these lines should not miss this splendid opportunity.
