The House met «l^Tae3day at 2.80 p.m. The Premier informed the House in respect to the Awa/ua seat and the present situation iir regard thereto that he intended to give notice of a motion later on for the purpose of petting up a Committed of Privilege. He intended to consult the Leader of the Opposition in respect to the constitution of the*cbnimittee. Excep tion would not be taken to Mr Ward taking the oath, but it was understood that he would refrain from taking part in the proceedings or joining in the privileges of the House until the finding of the Committee of Privilege was disclosed. This was agreed to, and shortly afterwards Mr Ward attended and took the oath.
